Say Hello to Lizzie

Lizzie joined the staff team in late July as our Senior Youth Worker, her focus is discipleship and evangelism and she shares a little bit about who she is and what she's going to be getting up to below... 

I grew up in Bolton, Lancashire, where I began following Jesus at 18 and soon after moved to Teesside with a sports evangelism team. I met my husband in Stockton and our family began in Teesside, but since then we’ve lived in 4 other countries, 2 mission bases and worked in church, youth, community and discipleship settings with people from all over the world. 

My passions in life are Jesus, my family, art and creativity, and pretty much any kind of sport. In my free time you will find me and my children at the local MUGA arranging a game with the locals like it's the world cup! I also like experimenting with wood, paint and whatever else I can get my hands on.

An exciting part of my role with Blank Canvas is helping young people to discover and learn about Jesus and what it looks like to follow him. I’ve been trying to follow Jesus for about 22 years and can honestly say it has been an amazing adventure. His presence and kindness has totally changed my life.

I also love how sport is an amazing tool for bringing people together from all walks of life and backgrounds. I’m looking forward to using this amazing resource to help young people in Redcar grow in confidence and enjoy something which will benefit both their physical and mental health.
