My favourite Bible verse
We’d love to share some of one of our brilliant young people’s stories with you and some of the transformations that’s been taking place for her over the past couple of months:
Amy (not real name) attended our Weekend Away with us this summer and loved building relationships with the team and other young people. She had loads of fun playing games and joining in with the challenges. On the last night of the weekend, Amy opened up to one of team about some of the challenges that she’d been facing. The leader asked if she wanted to invited God into that situation and Amy said yes, and they prayed together asking God to bring breakthrough.
A few weeks after the Weekend Away, Amy was so excited to share with the team how much better she was feeling: ‘I had been feeling really down about everything and a lot had been going on but ever since the Weekend Away I have been feeling so much better. My mindset has completely changed from ‘I can’t do this’ to ‘I can’ and it’s helped me so much. I have a feeling this might be the start of my healing journey because it’s been the highest of highs I have ever been on.’
And that’s just been the start of the fun – since then Amy has decided that she believes in God and has been on a journey to find out more. She’s been attending Youth Alpha and has started reading the Bible we have given her, flying through the 10-day new Christian Bible reading plan, she’s now reading the book of Matthew and enjoying the creativity of a journaling Bible.
Her favourite verse so far has been: ‘Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself’ (John 15:4) which is now on a piece of paper slotted into the back of her phone.
Do pray with us for Amy, and the other young people exploring a relationship with Jesus!
